Toddler Activity Schedule for March 2020

ree

The Reggio Emilia approach is to follow children’s lead. While playing with our favorite things and listening to favorite songs during our February unit, the kids kept gravitating towards the barn with animals and “old Macdonald had a farm” and books about animal sounds. This led to our March unit:

Our sensory bin will be filled with corn kernels, tractors, scoops and a “barn” and “silo” to fill with corn. Each room will have a barn with animals to play with. We will use our Elmo and ducks to act out and sing “Elmo had 4 ducks”. We will sing songs and read books to practice our barn animal sounds. We will do apple stamping and sheep “shearing”. And we will make our own butter to put on bread for a snack! Plus even more activities below.

Remember every day we have ️ 🌳 outdoor time and 📚 literacy. Every week we do 🎶music and 💃movement . We have centers for dramatic play, balls, various manipulatives, Montessori work (IE smelling jars), music, toys and books. And every weekday we do a themed activity schedule below:

Monday/Thursday: Colors 🎨

Tuesday/Monday: Shapes ⭕️

Wednesday/Tuesday: Sensory 🖐

Thursday/Wednesday: Fine Motor 🖖

Friday: Gross Motor 🤾‍♀️
