PreK 3 for January 2022

🍎🧴🥕Let’s Go Shopping 🛒 🧸📚

Before Holiday break the kids were playing with the toy food and going “shopping” a lot--so we’re back to school with a shopping theme. We will start with a “Grocery Store” that has the food groups, treats, snacks and household supplies. And then switch to a “Toy Store” that has toys, puzzles and books. Each store will have things to “buy” that are labeled with names, and we will count the items to use our “money” and buy. Our stores will also have a cash register and grocery cart. We will be “writing” our shopping lists, “reading” labels, counting and even doing some simple addition. We’ll also sort products by type, color, size etc. This theme will give us lots of opportunities in Literacy, Math and Health/Science.

Remember every day we have ️ 🌳 outdoor time and 📚 literacy. Every week we do 🎶music and 💃movement . We have centers for dramatic play, balls, various manipulatives, and table work (IE Montessori style and Loose Parts etc), music, toys and books. And every day we have Circle Time, a Learning Activity, Story Time and an afternoon Exploring Activity. Click here for a Google Doc with live & updated links for the overview below:
