Early Childhood Education is my favorite! Seriously--I developed a Scope and Sequence for Kindergarten Readiness for my daughter--just for fun! Then I actually was hired to write curriculum for a local Pre-School. Indeed,I have written curriculum for multiple Child Development Centers, for award-winning Secondary Charter Schools, and Online K-12 Academies, but activities like "E is for Egg" are my true passion. Above my oldest daughter (then 2 years old) is using a plastic butter knife and foam paint in the shape of a cracked egg to paint her letter E. Before the activity we looked at the letter E. The kids actually handled a large foam letter E and repeated the sounds with me. Then we talked about words that start with E and cracked our "eggs" to paint our letter E. This is just one example of how we can learn about letters through play, through art, through process. There is no picture of her finished E--because it was the process, not the product where learning was happening.

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Infants:
Infants work on appropriate milestones for their monthly development. Every child is different and will reach individual milestones at their own pace. These milestones will include: gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, speech, sensory and social-emotional. Due to the individual nature of infant milestones--activities will be tailored to the individual child.
Toddlers 12-24 months:
Toddlers will learn through playing indoors and outdoors but will also be introduced to literacy activities, centers, and themed activities. These activities will be games and crafts that are more loose in structure. Process is key--the product is secondary (or nonexistent lol)! Table work and the sensory table will be introduced around 18 months of age.
Toddlers 2-3 years old:
Older toddlers will continue to learn through playing indoors and outdoors but will also be able to participate in more structured activities. We will follow brief directions to complete more complicated processes. Themed activities will now incorporate letters and dictation. Process is still much more valuable than product!
Pre-K 3-5 years old:
Preschoolers will continue to learn through play indoors and outdoors but now will have a monthly themed curriculum that connects their structured activities into a broader lesson topic. Topics will include themes in Social-Emotional Development, Social Studies, and Science. Each monthly theme will cover activities in Fine Motor Skills, Art & Color, Reading, Alphabet & Sight Word Identification, Writing through Dictation, Number Concepts, Cognitive Math Skills, and Cognitive Science Skills.
